There always was a problem with custom toolbars in that by default they utilize vertical space (being another bar beneath the URL bar). Good riddance, never needed them, and gently denying this exploitative behaviour to the bundle people is a good idea.

If I understand your enquiry correctly, you want to get rid of further special toolbars. Right-click on any free space (other than the address bar) in your toolbar and choose the Customize option. Having a multi-row tab bar is also an absolute must with my workflow, but I guess that's one of the apparently archaic wishes. So I never use another 'foreign' toolbar or extra addon bar, but I have the Menu bar (or whatever it's called in English File, Edit, View, etc.) always enabled, and on the side in that one I've got a few buttons of addons that I desire to be readily available (screenshot, PDF, Jdownloader etc). I'm still on the last stable Legacy release, so I haven't yet delved into the minimized customizability of FF 57, so I don't know how my prefered layouting would be possible in >57.
